Precautions for Biomass Boilers

Installation, Maintenance, and Renovation of Biomass Boilers
Units engaged in the installation, maintenance, and renovation of boilers must obtain a special equipment installation and maintenance qualification certificate issued by the provincial Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau before they can carry out boiler installation, maintenance, and renovation. Before construction, the construction unit shall provide a written notice of the planned installation, maintenance, or renovation to the special equipment safety supervision department of the municipality or jurisdiction, and submit a work commencement notice to the local county-level Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau for record. Construction can commence after notification.

Acceptance of Biomass Boiler Installation, Maintenance, and Renovation
After construction is completed, the construction unit must apply to the Special Equipment Inspection Institute of the Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau for the boiler's hydrostatic test and installation inspection. Upon passing, the overall acceptance will involve the Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau, the Special Equipment Inspection Institute, and the county Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau.

Registration of Biomass Boilers
After the boiler is accepted, the user unit must, according to the "Regulations on Registration and Use Management of Special Equipment," complete the "Boiler (Census) Registration Form," register it with the Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau, and obtain the "Special Equipment Safety Use Registration Certificate."

Operation of Biomass Boilers
The boiler must be operated by a certified person who has received training and obtained the "Special Equipment Operator Certificate." During use, strict adherence to operating procedures, the eight mandatory systems, and six record-keeping requirements is required.

Inspection of Biomass Boilers
Boilers must undergo a scheduled inspection once a year, and those not undergoing periodic safety inspections must not be used. The boiler's safety attachments, including the safety valve, must be inspected once a year, and the pressure gauge must be calibrated every six months. Safety attachments that have not undergone periodic inspection must not be used.
