Basic characteristics of waste heat boiler

Waste heat boiler is a heat recovery equipment that uses waste heat from exhaust gas, waste or waste liquid generated in industrial processes, or heat released from the combustion of combustible substances to heat water to produce hot water or steam.

Basic characteristics
Fuelless combustion units (usually) :
Waste heat boilers mainly use existing exhaust gas, waste liquid or solid sensible heat as the heat source, and generally do not have a burner; Only when it is necessary to increase the steam parameters, an additional burner can be added for re-combustion.

No independent combustion system :
Compared with conventional boilers, there is no need for fans, air supply systems or fuel supply systems, and the heat source comes from high-temperature flue gases or substances emitted by the main process.

Multi-pressure steam production capacity :
It can be designed as a single-pressure, double-pressure, triple-pressure or even reheat system according to the needs, and generate steam at different pressure levels at the same time, significantly improving the heat recovery efficiency.

Diversified heating surface layout:
According to the characteristics of flue gas temperature, dust content, corrosiveness, etc., horizontal or vertical arrangement can be adopted, and the heating surface form includes fluorescent tube, fin tube, needle-shaped tube, etc., to adapt to different working conditions.

Typical structural composition :
It is mainly composed of a coal economizer, an evaporator, and a superheater, and some of them have a reheater; Supporting steam drums, combined boxes, descending pipes, rising pipes and other steam water systems.

Adapted to the main process operation:
As a waste heat recovery device, it cannot affect the normal operation of the main process, and needs to work in conjunction with the main equipment (such as gas turbine, metallurgical furnace, cement kiln, etc.).

Adaptability to high changing conditions:
Because the heat source fluctuates with the main process load, the waste heat boiler needs to have the ability to cope with the unstable heat load and flue gas parameters.

Pay attention to anti-wear, anti-corrosion and anti-ash accumulation:
For dusty, sulfur-containing or cohesive flue gases, measures such as low flow rate, vertical arrangement, wear-resistant materials, and self-cleaning structures (such as needle-shaped pipes) are used to ensure long-term operation.
